  1. I found that to be difficult as well. First to not see it as a lie, then to be creative about the fibbing for their comfort or happiness, then to find what actually helps the situation! Definitely a learning curve with a lot of emotions attached!!
    You did well!

  2. So many of these apply to you Susan. God Bless you, and have a happy Mother’s Day.

    The Beatitudes – KJV
Matthew 5:3-12 Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn:
    for they shall be comforted.
    Blessed are the meek:
for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger & thirst after righteousness:
for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful:
for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart:
for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted
    for righteousness’ sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

  3. Therapeutic fibbing. Didn’t know it had a name. Yes, I am very familiar with it. My mother suffered from dementia for 4 years. You say whatever keeps them calm and safe. No need to justify, because that is what a caregiver is. The person who knows them best and therefore, knows what’s best for our loved ones. Our Lord also knows human feelings and comforts us with his ‘ rod and his staff ‘. Our Good Shepherd. ((Hugs))
